Open the duty log
Open Hamilton Security.
In the left menu, click Duty log.
The list shows each event with its ID, start, family, event type, the sequence of events, end, agent and location. Click the arrow icon in the header to expand all details, or a column header to sort.
Record a new event
In the duty log, click New. The "Add an incident" window opens.
Fill in the event:
Event: pick the event type. Use the "Filter by family" list to narrow the catalog (for example fire, intrusion, technical).
Room: choose the building, then the room concerned.
Place: or select a general location.
Agent: you are set by default. On a stationary post, click "Agents selection" to record several agents.
Sequence of events: describe precisely what happened.
Measures taken: what was done in response.
Validate. The event is stamped with the date, time and your name.
If the event type requires a structured report, the report form opens automatically — see "Generate and print activity reports".
Add a follow-up to an event
Events often evolve. To append new facts without losing the history:
Open the event from the duty log and choose the follow-up action ("Follow-up of an incident").
The window shows the event's ID and details. Add the new sequence of events and the measures taken — both are mandatory.
Attach supporting files if needed: click "Attach a document" under "Add attachments". Attached files are listed and can be removed.
Validate. The follow-up is added to the event's history.
Close an event
Open the event and choose "End an incident" (also available from the open events list).
Complete the closing information: final facts, measures taken, and any attachments.
Validate. The event gets its end date and time and leaves the open events list.
Watch the open events
In the left menu or during the start-of-shift sequence, the "Unclosed events" list shows everything still open — your handover checklist. Process or close them as the situation evolves.
Search the duty log
Use the filters at the top of the duty log to find anything:
Type: incident, alarm, agent entry/exit, start of shift, end of shift, checklists, mission (including late, deleted, suspended), movement, system events, or all.
Click "Advanced search" for more criteria: event, family, room, place, site, post, agent, dates (from/to), text in measures taken or reports.
Click Search. Click Clean to reset.
Click Print in the left menu tools to print the displayed log, or use the print action on an event for its detailed sheet. The Export tool downloads the list as a file.
