Configure shift periods

Shift periods (vacations) structure the guards' day: morning, day, night — each with its days, time slot, start and end. When configured, agents open their period at shift start and close it at the end, framing everything they record.

Manage the shift periods

  1. Open Hamilton Security and click Administration in the left menu.

  2. In the Events section, click "Vacations management".

  3. The list shows the defined periods. Add or edit a period with:

    • The Day(s) it applies to.

    • The Slot (its name, for example Night).

    • The Start and End times.

  4. Validate.

How agents use them

At shift start, when no period is open, the application asks "Do you want to open a vacation?" and shows the periods list — Day, Slot, Start, End — where the agent picks and validates. At shift end, the agent closes the vacation. See "Start and end your shift" in the user guides.

Good to know

  • Sites that do not need period tracking simply leave the list empty: the shift-start sequence then skips the vacation step.

  • Periods slice the duty log and the statistics: incident counts per vacation help compare day and night activity.
