Manage temporary instructions

Temporary instructions are time-limited orders: a door to keep closed during works, a contractor expected this week, extra patrols during an event. They complete the permanent sheets and expire on their own end date.

Consult the temporary instructions

  1. Open Hamilton Security.

  2. In the left menu, click Instructions, then "Temporary instructions". A window opens with the list.

  3. Each line shows the instruction, its reference, and its validity period (start and end).

  4. Browse the pages with the navigation buttons if the list is long, and click an instruction to read its full text.

During the start of shift

The temporary instructions currently in force are displayed automatically as a step of the start-of-shift sequence, right after the permanent sheets. Read them each time: they change from one shift to the next. See "Start and end your shift".

Good to know

  • Only instructions valid on the current date apply; expired ones disappear from the list.

  • Temporary instructions are created and scheduled by your administrators or supervisors. If you need one added, report it through your chain of command.

  • The number of active temporary instructions is tracked in the statistics — see "View statistics and dashboards".
