Manage user rights groups

Rights groups define what each profile of user can see and do — from the field agent to the site administrator. One group, one role: agents, supervisors, key managers, report editors.

Open the rights groups management

  1. Open Hamilton Security and click Administration in the left menu.

  2. In the "Agents and other users" section, click "User rights groups management".

  3. The list shows the groups; click Add or edit one.

Configure a group

  1. Enter the Group name (mandatory — "The rights field is mandatory" otherwise).

  2. Assign the rights by moving them from "Possible choices" to "Selected choices" with the arrow buttons:

    • Roles: Agent, Administrator.

    • Management rights: agents, instructions, missions, rights, reports, checklists, keys.

    • Feature access: temporary instructions, missions, keys, checklists, fire permits, tools and statistics, reports, états.

    • Behavior switches: "Without shift start" (the user signs in without the shift sequence — for supervisors and office staff), Stationary (fixed post, enables multi-agent selection on events), Multi-site, "Correction of observations" (may correct duty log entries), "Edition of reports on closed events", "Clear patrol checkpoints in progress", "Quit the application".

  3. Validate, then assign the group on each agent's record.

Suggested role patterns

  • Field agent: Agent, access to missions/keys/checklists/temporary instructions — nothing else.

  • Shift supervisor: agent rights plus correction of observations, reports, and management of missions and instructions.

  • Site administrator: Administrator plus the management rights they actually need — the Administration menu shows only the granted sections.

Good to know

  • The built-in default group cannot be edited by regular administrators.

  • Rights changes apply at the agent's next sign-in.

  • "Without shift start" changes the sign-in flow itself: use it deliberately.
