Configure events, event families and system events

The event catalog is the language of the duty log: every recorded incident points to an event type, organized in families. System events extend the catalog to what devices report automatically.

Manage event families

  1. Open Hamilton Security and click Administration in the left menu.

  2. In the Events section, click "Families management".

  3. Maintain the families (fire, intrusion, technical, medical...): they group events on the entry form ("Filter by family") and in the statistics ("Number of incidents by family").

Manage events

  1. In the Events section, click "Events management".

  2. Add or edit the event types, each attached to a family. The event type determines:

    • How agents find it when recording an incident.

    • Whether a structured report form opens with it — see "Design custom report templates".

Keep the catalog operational: what agents actually face, phrased as they say it.

Manage system events

  1. Click "System events management".

  2. Maintain the events generated automatically by connected systems (alarms, technical devices). They land in the duty log under the System type filter and are counted separately in the statistics ("Number of system incidents").

Good to know

  • All three screens follow the standard list pattern; deletion is protected for events with history.

  • Shift periods (vacations) are configured in the same menu section — see "Configure shift periods".

  • Event trends by family, event, location, post and agent are the core of the statistics dashboards — a clean catalog makes them meaningful.
