Print and export data from any list

Most screens in Hamilton Apps display data as lists: bookings, visits, packages, events, keys and more. Two tools available at the bottom of the left menu let you print the current screen or export the displayed list to a file you can open in Excel.

Export a list to a file

  1. Open the screen containing the list you want to export (for example your bookings, a visit list or a search result).

  2. Use the filters and search fields of the screen to narrow the list down to the data you need. The export always reflects the list as it is currently displayed.

  3. In the left menu, click "Export" (the tool is located at the bottom of the menu).

  4. Your browser downloads a CSV file named export.csv.

About the exported file:

  • It is a semicolon-separated CSV file encoded in UTF-8, which opens directly in Excel or any spreadsheet application.

  • The first row contains the column headers, followed by one row per list entry.

  • Sensitive fields such as passwords are never included in exports.

If the download contains a message saying the export is not available, refresh the page displaying the list and try again: the export needs the list to be freshly loaded on screen.

Print a screen

  1. Open the screen you want to print and apply any filters you need.

  2. In the left menu, click "Print" (the tool is located at the bottom of the menu, next to Export).

  3. Your browser's print dialog opens. Collapsed sections of the page are expanded automatically so the printout is complete.

  4. Choose your printer or "Save as PDF", then confirm.

Good to know

  • The Print and Export tools appear on screens where they are relevant. If you do not see them, the current screen does not support them.

  • Some modules also offer dedicated print and export buttons directly on the page (for example printable reports or PDF badges); these produce documents specifically formatted for that module.

  • Exports contain the data you are allowed to see. Handle exported files according to your organization's data protection rules.
