Configure reference data: civilities, countries, cities and special days

A large part of the administration is reference data: short lists that feed the forms everywhere. All these screens share the same list pattern — learn it once, use it everywhere.

The standard list screen

Most administration entries open the same kind of screen:

  1. Search: type your text and click the magnifier icon; the Clean icon resets the search.

  2. Add: click Add to open the entry form. Starred fields are mandatory; format errors are reported field by field ("The field ... is mandatory", "... must be numeric", "The date of the field ... is invalid").

  3. Edit: click the edit icon on a line to open the same form pre-filled.

  4. Delete: click the delete icon. Entries used elsewhere are protected — "You cannot delete this element" means bookings or records still reference it.

  5. Print and Export: the left-menu tools print or export the displayed list.

Civilities

Administration, Others section, "Civilities management": the titles (Mr, Ms, Dr...) proposed on person forms.

Countries

"Countries management": the country list used in addresses and visitor records.

Cities

"Cities management": the city list, proposed with autocomplete on address fields.

Special days

"Particular days management": public holidays and special dates. Special days affect booking availability and recurring series — a weekly series skips or flags the holidays depending on your settings.

Good to know

  • The same pattern applies to dozens of other screens referenced across this guide: statuses, types, companies, departments, services, families...

  • Reference data is often shared across Hamilton applications; coordinate changes with the other administrators.
