Declare the workstations
Open Hamilton Visitor, click Administration, then "Workstations management" in the Workstations section.
Declare each staffed workstation (post) with its name and site. Peripherals are then assigned per post — see "Connect peripherals: scanners, cameras, biometric readers and signature pads".
Configure the tablets and kiosks
In the Workstations section, click "Tablets management".
Create or edit a tablet ("Edition of a tablet"):
Site and Counter (mandatory — "The counter field is mandatory"): where the tablet stands.
Tablet name and Key: the key registers the physical device; the Registered indicator confirms the pairing.
Behavior switches, each Yes/No:
Check-in: visitors can check in on the tablet.
Exit: visitors can check out.
Automatic check-in and "Print and enter" (prints the badge and records the entry in one step).
Document signature: the signature step is presented on the tablet.
Defaults: the default Visit type and default Badge template used for tablet check-ins.
Compose the tablet's screen layout: the editor arranges the buttons in rows — maximum two elements per line ("The maximum number of elements per line is two").
Validate.
The "iPad configuration" screen provides the URL and settings to open on each physical tablet, as on the other Hamilton applications.
Verify a kiosk
Open the tablet's URL on the device: the visitor-facing interface loads with your layout.
Run a test check-in end to end: search or scan, sign if configured, badge printing, entry recorded at the tablet's counter.
Good to know
Tablet activity is traced per counter, like staffed desks.
QR codes and device duplication tools speed up fleet deployments — see "Connect peripherals: scanners, cameras, biometric readers and signature pads".
