Configure imports and scheduled tasks
Open Hamilton Visitor, click Administration, then "Tasks management" in the Tools section.
The screen works exactly like its Hamilton Meeting counterpart, with Tasks and Imports tabs:
Import configurations: file imports (path, separator, skip first line) or web service imports (server, credentials, query, filter), with field mappings and photo imports.
Tasks: schedule the configurations, order them with the arrows, run one immediately, or dry-run it with "Test the task".
Purge configurations clean old data on schedule — precious for visitor data retention rules.
Deletion protections apply ("You cannot delete this configuration because it is called in a task").
See "Import data and schedule automated tasks" in the Hamilton Meeting administrator guides for the full walkthrough of the shared engine.
Clean up duplicates
In the Tools section, click "Duplicates management".
Choose the Entity (visitors, companies, residents) and the Fields whose equality identifies a duplicate.
Click Search, review each group, pick the record to keep and merge: history re-attaches to the kept record.
Visitor records are the usual suspects — same person typed at two counters. A monthly pass on last name + first name + company keeps the dataset healthy.
Good to know
Day-to-day bulk imports of visits and visitors (event lists) are done by users with the import screens — see "Import visits and visitors in bulk" in the user guides; the tasks engine is for recurring, automated feeds.
Purges support your data protection obligations: schedule them rather than deleting manually.
