Configure types: visits, identity documents, vehicles, messages and carriers

Five type lists classify what flows through reception. They shape the forms, drive the workflows and dimension the statistics.

Visit types

  1. Open Hamilton Visitor, click Administration, then "Visit types management" in the Types section.

  2. Maintain the visit types (meeting, delivery, works, event...). Visit types:

    • Classify every visit and pre-registration.

    • Can be restricted per resident group (see "Manage resident rights and delegations").

    • Target badge templates and invitation pages.

    • Split statistics ("Number of visits by type").

Identity document types

  1. Click "Identity types management".

  2. Maintain the accepted identity documents (ID card, passport, driving licence): reception picks the type when checking a visitor's identity, and scanning maps to these types.

Vehicle types

  1. Click "Vehicle types management".

  2. Maintain the vehicle categories used by the parking and vehicle flows.

Message types

  1. Click "Message types management".

  2. Maintain the categories of the messaging center (alert, instruction, information) — see "Use messaging and review visit history" in the user guides.

Carrier types

  1. Click "Carrier types management".

  2. Maintain the transport company categories used by the parcels module (the carriers themselves are reference data — see "Configure parcels, lockers, keys and lone-worker devices").

Good to know

  • All five screens follow the standard list pattern (see "Configure general settings and reference data").

  • Short, unambiguous lists keep reception fast — every extra type is one more decision at the desk.
