Configure booking types and statuses

Types classify bookings (internal meeting, client meeting, training...); statuses describe their lifecycle (confirmed, option, pending validation, cancelled). Both appear on every booking form, list and statistic.

Manage booking types

  1. Open Hamilton Meeting, click Administration, then "Booking types management" in the Reservations section.

  2. Add or edit the types (standard list screen — see "Configure reference data" for the pattern). Keep the list short: types are a filter and a statistic dimension.

Manage booking statuses

  1. Click "Booking statuses management" in the Reservations section.

  2. Maintain the statuses. Each status has a label and a color — the color codes bookings on plannings and dashboards.

Statuses do real work in the workflows:

  • The default status of new bookings is set per user group ("Status" field, optionally modifiable by the member) — see "Manage permissions with user and room groups".

  • Validation-required rooms hold bookings in a pending status until a validator applies the new status — see "Define booking validation rules".

  • The services dashboard and booking lists filter by status.

Good to know

  • Do not delete statuses that carry history; the list screen blocks deletions that would orphan bookings ("You cannot delete this element").

  • Renaming a type or status applies everywhere immediately — lists, plannings and reports.
