The four applications share the same portal, the same sites and the same user accounts. You can therefore start with a single product and add others later without redoing the basic setup. The simplest approach is to start from the everyday need rather than from a list of features.
Welcoming visitors and securing entrances
If your question is who is entering the building today and whether it was expected, the product for you is Hamilton Visitor. It covers the whole visitor journey, from pre-registration by the host to the recording of the exit, including badge printing and notification of the person being visited.
Choose Hamilton Visitor if you keep a register of entries and exits, if you print badges, if you need to check documents or authorizations before arrival, if you manage parking spaces or parcels and mail at the front desk, or if your site requires visits and access requests to be validated beforehand, including access to restricted zones.
Booking rooms and organizing meetings
If your colleagues waste time looking for a free room, or if your rooms are booked and then left empty, the product for you is Hamilton Meeting. It centralizes the search by date, capacity and equipment, the booking from the search results or from the planning, the invitation of participants and the ordering of services attached to the meeting.
Choose Hamilton Meeting if you want a shared and reliable room planning, if you need to organize recurring meetings, if assistants book on behalf of other people, if some rooms must go through validation, or if you want to price and track the services ordered.
Organizing flex office and work presence
If your desks are no longer assigned to named people, or if you want to know who is coming on site on a given day, the product for you is Hamilton Deskbooking. Everyone books a desk on an interactive floor plan or from a list, declares their work presence for the coming weeks and releases their desk when they leave.
Choose Hamilton Deskbooking if you are introducing hybrid work, if you need to frame attendance with rules defined service by service, if your teams need to gather on the same days, or if you are looking for reliable occupancy figures to arbitrate your floor space.
Steering security and keeping the duty log
If your security teams still record events in a paper book, the product for you is Hamilton Security. It replaces the paper duty log with a timestamped, shared register, complemented by instructions, daily missions, checklists, patrols, key lending and fire permits.
Choose Hamilton Security if you must be able to prove what happened and when, if your agents work in relays across shift periods and need to read the instructions in force, if you run recurring patrols and missions, or if you produce regular activity reports for your management or your client.
Combining several products
The products often make the most sense together. Hamilton Meeting and Hamilton Visitor come together naturally when you receive external guests: the people invited to a meeting can be announced to reception at booking time, which avoids double entry — see "Invite visitors to your meeting" in the Hamilton Meeting user guides.
Hamilton Meeting and Hamilton Deskbooking complement each other for occupancy measurement: the first set of figures covers rooms, the second covers desks and work presence, and reading them together gives an overall view of how your floor space is really used.
Hamilton Visitor and Hamilton Security come together on sensitive sites, where reception and security work on the same people and the same badges. The entries and exits recorded on the security side then complete the register of visits kept at the front desk.
Who does what in your organization
Whichever product you choose, two roles share the work. Users perform the everyday actions and need no technical skills. Administrators prepare the environment beforehand: they create rooms, desks, sites and counters, define rules and rights, and connect peripherals and integrations.
A good part of what you will read in the user guides therefore depends on an administrator setting. When a feature described in an article does not appear on your screen, it is usually because it has not been enabled for your site or your profile, and your administrator will be able to confirm it.
