Configure integrations: email and Hamilton API

The Configuration section connects Hamilton Security to its technical environment: the SMTP server for notifications, the Hamilton API for companion services, the database connections and the background scheduler.

Configure the email sending (SMTP)

  1. Open Hamilton Security and click Administration in the left menu.

  2. In the Configuration section, click "SMTP configuration".

  3. Enter your mail relay settings (server, port, authentication, sender) and validate.

  4. Test with a notification-generating action and check the email arrives.

Configure the Hamilton API connection

  1. In the Configuration section, click "Hamilton API configuration".

  2. Enter the endpoint and credentials provided with your platform, and validate.

Configure the database and web service connections

Two technical screens, established at installation:

  • "Site database configuration": the connection to the site's database.

  • "Web services database configuration" and "Web service configuration": the data services layer.

Change them only during infrastructure operations, keeping a record of the previous values.

Configure the scheduled service (ServiceTache)

  1. In the Configuration section, click "ServiceTache configuration".

  2. Maintain the URLs the background scheduler calls for automated jobs. Keep them aligned with your deployment.

Good to know

  • Single sign-on (SSO) configuration is handled with your Hamilton contact and is not covered here.

  • After any change, test the affected chain end to end: an email, a scheduled run, an API call.
